Marvin Donald Buckeye, Sr., 91, of Bismarck, ND passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025, at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Marvin was born on February 9, 1934, the oldest son of John and Gladys (Glovich) Buckeye Sr. He grew up on the family farm near Nortonville, ND.

Marvin married Darlene Schaible on May 15, 1955 in Nortonville, ND. They farmed north of Edgeley, ND for over 32 years where they raised beef cattle and grain crops. In 1987, Marvin and Darlene left the farm and moved to Omaha, NE, where he worked in construction, manufacturing and meat processing. They eventually bought a house in Council Bluffs, IA where Marvin was able to groom the best looking yard in the neighborhood. He took great pride in growing grass that was soft as carpet. Marvin retired in 1999 with Darlene retiring a couple years later.

Upon retirement, Marvin and Darlene returned to ND and settled in Bismarck, ND. In 2012 they became snow birds and wintered in Bull Head City, AZ until 2022 when Bismarck became home year round.

Marvin was a man of service to others over the years. He served on the board of directors for the local grain elevator in Edgeley. He was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Nortonville, the Jamestown Eagles, the Shriners and Knights of Columbus.

Marvin enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting and trapping. He participated in numerous golf and bowling tournaments around the state.
