Maryann Suhr, 75, Bismarck, formerly of Ray, ND, died September 21, 2018, surrounded by her loving family at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, September 26, at Church of St. Mary, 806 E. Broadway Ave., Bismarck. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday, September 25, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil will begin at 7:00 pm. Maryann Rose was born December 28, 1942, to Anthony and Jennell (Muth) Schoenfelder, in Parkston, SD. She was baptized and confirmed at Emsley Catholic Church. She grew up on a farm west of Ethan, SD, and went to country schools through the 8th grade, and then went on to graduate from Ethan High School. On June 12, 1962, Maryann married the love of her life, Donald C. Suhr, at Emsley Catholic Church, and they were blessed with four lovely children, Bill, Brenda, Rose, and Darwin. Maryann worked at Ethan Co-op Lumber as a bookkeeper until December 1970, at which time the family moved to Ray, ND. In 1972, she went to work for Northwest Lumber and Supply, Inc, as a bookkeeper. She retired in 2006. Maryann was very active in St. Michael’s Church, the Altar Society, and the Ray Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, bingo, dominoes, reading a good book, visiting with family and friends, and liked to take small trips to visit grandchildren and family. They traveled to many vacation spots in the United States and overseas. Don and Maryann moved to Bismarck in 2011. They joined St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Burleigh County Senior Center, and took part in many of the activities she enjoyed at the senior center, such as dinner dances, playing cards, and other games. Maryann is survived by her husband, Don, Bismarck; their children, Bill (Liz) Suhr, Ray, Brenda (Bob) Aisenbrey, Bismarck, Rose Mosser, Minot, and Darwin (Jenn) Suhr, Valley City; five grandsons, Nicholas, Jacob, Connor, Nathan, and Jayden; four granddaughters, Megan, Hanna, Nicole, and Avery; her siblings, Gloria Grooms, Dayton, OH, Norman (Carol) Schoenfelder, Mitchell, SD, Pat (Dick) Eimers, Madison, SD, Randy (Nancy) Schoenfelder, Ethan, SD, Alvin (Tricia) Schoenfelder, Aurora, CO, Sandy (Jerry) Long, Mitchell, SD, Diane (Lyle) Morgan, Mt. Vernon, SD, Mike Schoenfelder, Mitchell, SD, and Ronnie Schoenfelder, Loomis, SD; and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Robert and Gary Schoenfelder.
