Michael "Cutter" Jay Marter

Michael Jay Marter (Cutter), 67, Bismarck, ND, passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2018.   A celebration of Michael’s life will be held on Saturday, October 27, at the Freedom Riders Club House, 822 Airport Rd Bismarck, ND, starting at 6:00 p.m.  Children are welcome till 9:00 p.m. He was born on October 23, 1950, in Fort Riley, Kansas, to Dorothy Witt-Marter and John Marter.  Michael graduated from Minot High School.  Upon graduating and after a few years of exploring, Michael moved to Bismarck, ND, where he worked at Leonard's Barber Shop as a cosmetologist.  He then moved on and became a co-founder of Michael Jays Hair Salon.  After many years in cosmetology, he became known as "Cutter".   Michael worked for many years as a freedom fighter, legislating and promoting motorcycle safety and awareness where he later became the Executive Director of ABATE of ND. Michael Jay (Cutter) was a proud and dedicated member of the Freedom Riders MC where he could be found cooking and grilling at all their events.   Michael is survived by his sister, Jacqueline Marter; two sons, Jason and Justin Marter, grandchildren Hailee, Suby and Cade Marter; nephews, BJ, Lance, and Todd Behm; his special Freedom Rider Family; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
