Michael Hertz

Michael Wayne Hertz, 50, passed away Wednesday, January 17th, 2018, at his home of natural causes. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 22, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1402 E. Avenue C., Bismarck. A prayer service will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, January 21, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place. Mike was born November 11, 1967, to Emil and Rose (Wagner) Hertz of Bismarck, ND. He was raised and educated in Bismarck and graduated from high school in 1987. His many interests included working on cars, playing pool and riding motorcycles. He was in the process of building a motorcycle dirt bike. He also enjoyed building computers and gaming. When he was younger he enjoyed fishing and camping with his dad and his nephew, Kevin, who was a year older than him. Through the years he held many different positions at Dan’s Supermarket. He was employed at Cash Wise Foods until his health did not allow it. He is survived by his mother, Rose Hertz, Bismarck, and sisters, Rita John (Gene Lehr), Bismarck, Karen Mclean, New Salem, June Hertz, Bismarck, Cheryl Johnson, Towner, and Gail Nagel (Ed), Bismarck; her nieces and nephews, Kevin (Stacy) John, Mandan, Rhonda John, Bismarck, Dawn Brorby, Larimore, Lori (Tim) Hillestad, Bismarck, Justin (Lea) Mclean, Charlotte, NC, Vanessa (Philip) Harr, Mandan, Lindsay Nagel, Bismarck, Paul Nagel, Bismarck, Aubrey Johnson, Fargo, and Isaiah Johnson, Towner. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Emil Hertz; brothers-in-law Al John, and Gene Johnson; and niece Nicole John.
