Michael Adam Rouse, 53, Bismarck, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023 in a Bismarck hospital. Per Michael’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
Michael was born on August 9, 1969, in Orange County, FL, the son of Richard and Julianna (Masseth) Rouse. At six months old, his dad passed away. His mom, his three siblings and him moved to North Dakota. Michael was the youngest and was often the tag-along, being watched after by his older siblings. As a junior in high school, he moved to Bismarck with his mom and stepfather and graduated from Bismarck High School. After graduation, he moved in with his brother Richard and his love for music and movies led them to making a pretty sweet home theatre system between the two of them.
A collector of sorts is one way Michael could be described. This was apparent in his love for comic books, Marvel/DC figurines and crystals and rocks. If there were rocks around, Michael was looking for unique ones and especially agates. Michael also was a gym rat at one time and did body building. He enjoyed working with his hands and made many “God’s Eyes”-a craft made out of sticks and string/yarn. He would find places to hang them or share them with friends.
He was the king of nicknames and everyone close to him was given a nickname or three. He had a love for animals, especially his cat, “The Chip” and his dog, “Oopda”. Family was most important to Michael and he held family close.
He will be missed by his siblings, Barb (Larry) Rueb, and their children, Cole (Macy) Rueb and Kelli (Marcus) Ulmer and their son, Talan, Richard Rouse and Robert (Brenda) Rouse and their daughter, Alexandra Rouse and her son Rhyker; step siblings and their families, Lavern (George) Walls, Dale (Kathy) Chmielewski, Alan (Kathy) Chmielewski and Steven (Connie) Chmielewski.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Julianna Rouse and his stepfather Louie.
