Mildred Hanson

Mildred Hanson, 95, Bismarck, passed away at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, on March 18, 2019.

Services will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 28, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck. Cremation has taken place.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Mildred was born in Steele, ND, on September 7, 1923 to parents Grenville Selland and Marvel Brenden.  She had four brothers, Curtis, Dick, Lee, Lynne and one sister Ardis.  

Mildred graduated from Steele High School and commercial college.  Mildred married Donald Hanson in February of 1947.  The couple operated the Driscoll Grain and Lumber from 1947-1984 and lived in Driscoll until 1990 when they moved to Bismarck.

During this time Don and Mildred were blessed with one daughter Donna Jeanne, who married and had one daughter Jennifer. Mildred had 2 great-grandchildren, Langley Jeanne and Declan James. 

Mildred had an affiliation with the Grace Lutheran Church in Driscoll remaining active with the church.  She also enjoyed her golf and Bunco games in which was a member of several clubs.  

Mildred also was very proud of the Nursing program at Jamestown college, where her daughter Donna Jeanne had graduated from. Mildred would provide an annual scholarship for a deserving student each year.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Don; her daughter, Donna Jeanne; all of her siblings; and her parents.
