Miles “Butch” Hansen, 85, died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 17, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. A live stream of the service can be found at parkwayfuneral.com.
Butch was born NW of Driscoll on his grandfather’s farm to Adolph and Anna (Schoon) Hansen. He was educated in the Driscoll area. Butch married the love of his life, Sharon Eliason, October 24, 1958. He worked for the Bismarck Fire Department for 34 years, retiring in 1994. Butch also worked a number of part-time jobs and was part owner of the Longhorn Bar and Country North Western Store. They had a cabin at Brush Lake and after retirement spent their winters in Arizona. Butch enjoyed singing while Sharon played the keyboard and together they recorded a CD. Butch also enjoyed carving, crafts, fishing, snake hunting, going to rummage sales and dancing with Sharon.
Butch is survived by Sharon; daughter, Valerie (Robert); granddaughter, Jessica (Shane); step great-grandchildren, Shelby and Royce; grandson, Colin (Therese); great-grandsons, Jaxson, Easton, Tanner and Sawyer; and one sister, MaryAnn Nelson.
He was preceded in death by son, Jeffrey; his parents; and sisters, Mildred, Darlene and Christine.
