Myrna Dahl

May 27, 1944 — February 15, 2025

Myrna Dahl passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025 at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck, ND surrounded by her sons and her "girls," her daughter-in-law and her caretaker.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, Feb. 21, Parkway Funeral Service, 2300 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.  Family will begin greeting guests one hour prior to service time. 

Myrna will be put to rest in Schaffer Cemetery in Watford City, ND in the spring.

Myrna Kaye Dahl was born in Williston, ND on May 27, 1944, to Norman Arnold and Mildred Geniva Dahl. She was the oldest of two siblings, Curt Dahl and Holly Washburn (deceased)

Myrna attended school and grew up in Watford City. During high school, she was very active in sports, played the french horn and loved helping her dad on the farm. She attended Concordia College and received her bachelor's in physical education in 1966. She taught physical education for three years before returning to North Dakota.

She married her husband and a couple years after she had her first son Norman August Dahl in 1974 in Albuquerque, NM, then gave birth to her youngest son, Charles Justin Dahl in 1978 in Williston, ND. They lived in Watford City, ND until work found her and her family moving to Bismarck, ND in 1980. She became a dedicated paraprofessional to children with special needs. She touched many lives and many families.

Myrna became a phlebotomist shortly after at St. Alexius in Bismarck and worked both jobs until her retirement on March 19, 2010. She made many life-long friends at both jobs.

Myrna enjoyed many sports including league volleyball, slow pitch softball and was an avid bowler and attended many tournaments all over the country with her friends. She was a lover of animals especially her dogs and later, her first and only cat, Tinker who provided much comfort over the last year.

Myrna enjoyed traveling. She went to Mexico with her sister and cousin in 1998. She also enjoyed visiting her son in Alaska. After retirement she enjoyed attending Farmers Union trips and had many adventures with the groups. In 2018, she went to Europe with her daughter-in-law and visited five countries.

Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Mildred Dahl; and sister, Holly Washburn. 

She is survived by her eldest son, Norman and wife, Amy Dahl; grandchildren, Kylan (17) and Morgan (13) Dahl; and her youngest son, Charles Dahl; and grandson, Gavin (20) Dahl, all reside in Bismarck.
