Myron Senechal, 75, Bismarck, passed away at the Benedictine Living Center, Garrison on October 28, 2019.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, Novemebr 4, at Church of St. Anne, 1321 Braman Ave., Bismarck, with Father Wayne Sattler officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 3, from 1:00 to 3:00 pm. at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck, with a rosary beginning at 3:00 pm. Burial will be held 2:00 PM on Monday, November 4 at the North Dakota Veteran's Cemetery, Mandan.
Myron was born on Jan. 21, 1944, to Phillip and Evelyn (Cote) Senechal in Bottineau. Myron attended the School of Forestry currently Dakota College at Bottineau and North Dakota State University at Fargo, ND, graduating with a degree in agriculture. Upon graduating in 1966, he was drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam from 1966-68. After returning home, he began his long career with the US Dept. of Agriculture in the Natural Resources Conservation Service. Myron’s career started in Valley City, where he met his wife Cheryl Nelson. They had three children; Jodi, Matt, and Mike. Myron's career moved the family to Finley, Forman, Mandan, Casper, Wyo., and finally to Bismarck in 1984, where they remained and raised their family.
Myron gave with a true servant's heart to his family, church, and community in so many ways throughout his life. In retirement, Myron enjoyed discovering French genealogy, volunteering, gardening, carving and giving away diamond willow walking sticks, and all things family.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Cheryl; daughter, Jodi (Tom) Scheeler, Minot; sons, Matt (Lori) Senechal, and Mike (Rui) Senechal, Bismarck; grandchildren, Annie and Emma Scheeler, Caleb and Cohen Senechal, and Max and Spencer Senechal; brothers, Keith (Janet) Senechal and Orlan (Carolyn) Senechal; sisters, Joyce Zunich, Diane (Jim) Senechal and Shirley (John) Voeller; brother-in-law, Gary Nelson; and sister-in-law, Vivian Nelson.
Myron was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Bennett Senechal; and brothers-in-law, David Nelson, and Joe Zunich.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to be made to the donor’s choice.
