Norma J. Eberly, 85, Bismarck, died September 2, 2019, at the Baptist Health Care Center, Bismarck.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, September 7, at First Baptist Church, 306 E. Divide Ave, Bismarck.
Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.
Norma was born January 14, 1934, in Adair, IA, the daughter of William G. and Ruby J. (Peterson) Heckman. She married Bruce M. Eberly on October 6, 1957, in New Virginia, IA, and to this union three daughters were born, Kimberly, Susan, and Gail. Throughout the years, Norma and Bruce lived in various cities including, Omaha and Scottsbluff, NE, and Sioux Falls, SD. The family moved to Bismarck in 1967. Norma retired from United Printing, Bismarck, in 2004 as a graphic artist.
She enjoyed traveling, participating in the Red Hats Society, playing cards, Sudoku puzzles, reading, and watching tv. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, VFW Auxiliary, Caring Sunday Singles, 50+ Singles Card Club, and the Good Neighbor Club.
Norma is survived by her daughters, Kimberly (David) Vettel, Beulah, Susan (Jerry) Meyer, Menoken, and Gail Nelson (Scott Wixom), Mesa, AZ; her seven grandchildren, Adam (Jennifer) Vettel, Jennifer Vettel, Kyle (Heather) Vettel, Amy (Russ) Magloughlin, Tyler (Kristi) Schacher, Heather (Chris) Wetch, and Devon Nelson; nine great-grandchildren, Liliana Howell, Lucas Howell, Alexa Vettel, Tucker Schacher, Savannah Schacher, Jordyn Ewine, Brycen Schacher, Dawson Bertelsen, and Kaiden Collins; her brother, Delbert (Joyce) Heckman, Laconia, IA; sister-in-law, Erma Heckman, St. Charles, IA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Christopher Vettel; sisters, Shirley Crawford and Ramona Reed; and brother, Melvin Heckman.
