Norman J. Albers, 80, Bismarck, died on December 19, 2017, at Sanford Health, after a courageous battle with cancer. Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, December 23, at Zion Lutheran Church, 413 Avenue D East, Bismarck, with Rev. Thomas R. Marcis Jr. officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 10:30 am Saturday until the time of the service. Norman James Albers was born into this world on February 10, 1937, to Otto and Minnie Albers of the Hannover, ND, area. He was baptized into the Lutheran faith at Hannover, ND. Norman was raised on the family farm and attended area schools. On October 5, 1958, he married the love of his life, Idell Huber. They raised three children, Kurt, Craig, and Karla. His greatest pride and joy was his faith and family. Norman enjoyed his yard and gardens, camping, hunting, fishing, boating, and the family cabin at Pick City. He loved the game of Pinochle, and also enjoyed helping out on the family farms. Norman was an avid woodworker, making many projects for anyone of need and also helping others build buildings. Norman worked for Super Valu Warehouse and was a Teamster member. Norman enjoyed his retirement years; helping his children in any way and traveling the USA with Tony and Jean Privatsky. He was a Pride of Dakota vendor, having a company, “Buckles by Norman.” Norman is survived by his wife, Idell (Huber); sons, Kurt, Craig (Dana); daughter, Karla (Art Whittey); grandchildren, Katelyn and Tyrel Albers, Alexis Whittey; sister, Correne (Les) Henke; sister-in-law, Della Albers; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tony and Jean Privatsky, and Lloyd (Emma) Huber; and numerous nephews and nieces. He entered his eternal life preceded by his parents; and his brothers, Eugene and Leonard.
