Patricia Ann Eck

Patricia Toman Eck passed on June 22, 2019.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday July 22, 2019 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. 

 She was born in Grand Forks, ND on June 13, 1941 to George and Helen (Dill) Toman. Her father served in World War II and after the war, the family moved to the Bismarck-Mandan area where she spent the rest of her life.

Patricia graduated from Jamestown College with a degree in Physics and then became a teacher. She married Donavan John Eck of Bismarck, ND, on August 14, 1965. Following their wedding, they moved to the family farm east of Bismarck. After teaching for a few years, she went back to school and earned her master’s degree from the University of North Dakota in Special Needs Education. She was on the forefront of special needs teachers being introduced into the classroom and was one of the first special education teachers in the Bismarck Public School system. After many years of teaching, Patricia retired from the Bismarck Public School System and went on to continue working in education by conducting educational testing for North Dakota Vocational Rehabilitation.

Pat had a passion for gardening and was known for her beautiful yard and garden. She loved spending time with her beloved husband Donavan and family. Pat was very proud of her children, Troy Donavan and twins, Tate Douglas and Tracy Dana.

She is survived by her husband Donavan, their three children and spouses, and grandchildren: Troy & Elisabeth Eck and their son Magnus (Dothan, AL); Tate & Shannon Eck (Kindred, ND); Tracy & Travis Bridwell and their sons Holter & Hauser (Bismarck, ND).

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Helen Louise West.
