Patrick Gleich, 56, Bismarck, died December 6, 2018, at Sanford Health, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 – 6:00 pm Tuesday, December 11 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary service will begin at 6:00 pm.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, December 12, at Church of St. Anne, 1321 Braman Ave, Bismarck.
Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 12.
Patrick Gleich was born on February 9, 1962 in Bismarck; the son of Anton and Mary (Lacey) Gleich. He grew up in Bismarck until 1971 when the family moved to the family farm near Baldwin. He attended schools in Bismarck, Baldwin, and graduated from Century High School in 1980.
On February 28, 1986 he began his full-time career in the North Dakota National Guard. He would go on to earn a bachelor’s degree from the University of Mary. During his career he was deployed several times over seas and would most notably serve as Commander of the Headquarters Company of the 141 Engineer Combat Battalion when they were deployed to FOB Speicher, Tikriet, Iraq from February 2004 to February of 2005. Patrick retired from the service February of 2017.
He enjoyed collecting coins, hunting, fishing, playing pinochle, gambling, and was a devoted, long suffering Vikings fan.
Patrick is survived by his mother, Mary, Baldwin; his siblings, Donny (Sandy), Bismarck, Kathy (John), Wilton, David (Tammy), Bismarck, Dan (Laura), Bismarck; his sister-in-law, Linda Gleich, Wilton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Anton; and two brothers, Dennis and Tom.
