Paul J. Fischer, 76, of Bismarck, ND, passed away on July 24, 2017, of multiple health problems.Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am Friday, July 28, at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, 519 Raymond St., Bismarck, with Fr. Jared Johnson officiating.Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm Thursday, July 27, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm.Burial will be held at 11:00 am Friday, July 28, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.Paul Fischer was born in Hague, ND, on September 4, 1940. He attended St. Mary's High School and served in the US Air Force from 1963 to 1969. After his time in the Air Force, Paul was employed at Scar Engineering and then went on to learn cabinet building with Bernie Thomas, eventually opening his own shop and crafting kitchen cabinets for many Bismarck area homes. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, camping, and bird watching. Paul is survived by his daughter, Gina Fischer; and four older siblings, Rodney Fischer (Carolyn), Betty Hardy (Virgil), Francis Fischer (Tillie), and Rose Marie Erling. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Koch.
