Paul “Danny” Haugen 74, passed away on January 1, 2024 at his home of natural causes.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Monday, January 8, 2024 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
Burial will be held at 1:00PM, Tuesday, January 9 at Alexander Cemetery, Alexander, North Dakota. Following the burial there will be fellowship at the Alexander Firehall.
Danny was born on Aug 1, 1949 in Williston, North Dakota. He was the son of Orville and Dorothy Haugen. He was raised on his family’s farm south of Alexander, North Dakota. He graduated from Alexander High School and attended University of North Dakota. He went on to work in the oilfields, working in Wyoming, Montana, and North Dakota. He changed careers and started to work at Motor Coach Industries building busses in Pembina, North Dakota. Danny retired and moved to Hot Springs, South Dakota in 2015. He moved to Wing, North Dakota to be closer to family in 2020.
Danny enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing cards. He loved to socialize and meeting new people. He loved to spend time with his dog, and constant companion, Dobie. He was an avid Vikings fan and would argue better teams with anyone.
He was survived by his three sons, Jeff (Kate), Tate (Michelle), and Dallas Haugen; his eight grandchildren, Danielle (Ivan) Gunderson, Austin Haugen, Zach Haugen, Mikaila Morris, Courtny Haugen, Ty Morris, Tina Morris, and Audrey Haugen; great-granddaughter, Ava Gunderson; his sister, Astrid Coats; sister and brother-in-law, Susan and Russ Schumacher, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Dorothy; brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Louise Haugen and brother-in-law Keith Coats.
