Phyllis J. Lindblom, 76, Bismarck, died October 25, 2018, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 3, at First Presbyterian Church, 214 E. Thayer Ave., Bismarck, with Rev. Dr. Leanne Simmons officiating. Phyllis was born October 6, 1942, to Alfred and Helen (Edmunds) Butterfield, in Chadron, NE. She graduated from Torrington High School in Torrington, WY. Phyllis attended Chadron State College and Dickinson State College where she met Jerry Lindblom. The couple were married on August 19, 1962, in Dickinson, ND, and had three children, son Kirk and daughters Kelly and Kerri. She lovingly took care of and stayed at home with them until 1982, when she started teaching preschool at the YMCA. She worked there until her retirement in 2007. Phyllis was actively involved in PEO, as well as several committees and activities at First Presbyterian Church, Bismarck. She cherished every friendship she made in every aspect of her life. Phyllis was a loving and supportive coach’s wife. She was her children’s and grandchildren’s biggest fan and loved to be there for as many of their activities that she could. Her big, beautiful smile was one of her special gifts that she shared and will be missed by everyone. Phyllis is survived by her husband of 56 years, Jerry, Bismarck; son, Kirk (Cindy), Wolverton, MN; daughters, Kelly (Mike) Faller, Grand Forks, ND, and Kerri Pontius, Coweta, OK; six grandchildren, Michael (Megan) Faller, Grand Forks, Kathryn (Shane) Rothenberger, Larimore, ND, Rybecca and Dillon Hooper, Coweta, OK, Tanner Faller, Grand Forks, and Lexi Lindblom, Wolverton, MN; three great-grandchildren, Jerome Rothenberger, Avery and Ellie Faller; sister, Linda (Greg) Soules, Bismarck; brother, Steve (Sue) Butterfield, Mandan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many wonderful friends.
