Punky Christmann

Please join Punkys family for a celebration of her life at 5:00 PM, Friday, March 15, 2024 at Punky's home. 

Punky was born on October 8, 1955, in Williston, North Dakota, to Gordon and Betty (Travelute) Cherrey. She was raised and educated in Williston and Bismarck. Punky became a young mother and raised, Stacey. Later she married Robert Guthmiller and to this union, Robbie was born. After sometime, Punky married Jerry Christmann and two more boys joined the family, Jeremy and Justin.  Punky dedicated 25 years of service before retiring from Sanford, she was a familiar face to many at the hospital, where she tirelessly covered many miles on the hospital floors and in different departments, always with a smile on her face. Her spunky demeanor and friendly nature made her many lifelong friends over the years.  

She was known for her exceptional homemade peanut brittle, which brought joy to all who tasted it.

In her retirement, Punky continued to enjoy the simpler things in life, surrounded by her loved ones. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her, but her memory will be cherished forever.

Punky is survived by her children, Stacey (Danny) Milton, Robbie Guthmiller, Jeremy Christmann, and Justin Christmann; mother, Betty Suverly; eleven grandchildren, Cody, Desiree, Desmond, Brody, Dani, Madison, Dante, Jacob, Meriah, Mary, Navy; four great grandchildren, McKenzie, Jessie Jr, Grayson, Scarlett; brother, Gordy Cherrey; lifelong friends, Linda, Lynn, Julie, Caroline, and Andy, and Tracy Ferrell-Shellum who has helped carry out Punkys final wishes. 

She is preceded in death by her fathers, Gordon Cherrey and Earl Suverly; siblings, Jeanie Krein, Larrie Cherrey and Earleen Spencer.
