Raymond “Ray” Leischner, 85, Bismarck, passed away January 6, 2025. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 11 at McCabe United Methodist Church, 1030 N 6th St, Bismarck.
Family will greet guests from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.
Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Bismarck.
Raymond David was born to John and Emma (Koenig) Leischner on May 13, 1939 in Fairholme, Saskatchewan. He moved to Fessenden with his family when he was three months old. He graduated from Fessenden High School in 1958. Ray attended Minot State and then Minot Business College where he graduated. He began working at Magic City Implement, and was promoted from bookkeeper, parts department assistant and then office manager. In 1968 Ray moved to Bismarck and worked for affiliates of Case Farm Equipment, including Bismarck Farm Equipment, Cliff’s Sales and Service, Northern Plains Equipment. All his co-workers and managers were good friends to him. At age 63, Ray retired but continued to work part time at Northern Plains Equipment.
On April 10, 1976 Ray married Beth Wiley in Velva. Ray and Beth enjoyed traveling to Florida, California, and New York to visit relatives and friends.
Ray was a lifetime member of the Bismarck Elks. He was also a member of McCabe United Methodist Church in Bismarck.
He was a lifelong Twins fan and he enjoyed going to Minneapolis to watch them play. He enjoyed playing pinochle and cribbage with friends.
The family would like to thank the nurses, CNAs, and doctors of Sanford Health and Bismarck Cancer Center for their wonderful care.
Ray is survived by his wife, Beth; son, Jeremy (Rebecca), and their children, Lucy and Greta, all of Centerville, MN; sister, Adeline (Mike) Guy, Minot; and several cousins, nephews and niece.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Earl (Clara) Leischner; and sister, Marian (Vergil) Suckut.
