Raymond Steiert

Raymond P. Steiert Jr., age 54 of Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 in Bismarck, ND.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, Nov 22, 2023 at Ascension Catholic Church, 1825 S 3rd Street in Bismarck.

Visitation from 5:00-7:00PM with vigil service at 7:00PM on Tuesday, Nov 21, 2023 at Eastgate Funeral Home, 2302 East Divide Ave. in Bismarck, ND.

Interment will be at St. Benedict’s Cemetery, Belcourt, ND.

Raymond was born on June 4, 1969 in Tacoma, Washington to Raymond Sr. and Martha Anne Steiert. His father was in the military and his family moved from Tacoma, WA to Taegu, South Korea, with Minot, ND being the family’s final stop. He completed his schooling through the Minot Alternative Education program and received his high school diploma nearly four months earlier than planned.

Raymond was united in marriage to Sara Wood on June 7, 2006 and from that union came three children: Jeremy, Megan, and Elizabeth. His children were his pride and joy, and he was always happy to talk about their accomplishments. He was an avid Star Wars fan and Marx toy collector, and bought and sold all types of toys, figures, and WWII memorabilia online. Those who knew him will remember his sharp wit and sense of humor, his love for his dogs, and his willingness to help when needed.

He will be deeply missed by his two children; his wife and  his two sisters, Carol (Lynn) Bryntesen and Paula (David) Schall.

He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Megan; nephew, Eric Bryntesen and mother-in-law, Shirley Wood.
