Rebecca "Becky" Ann Hollingsworth

Rebecca “Becky” Ann Hollingsworth, 65, Bismarck, passed away February 26, 2018, at CHI St. Alexius Health, after a short illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 pm Thursday, March 1, at Church of St. Joseph, 108 3rd St NE, Mandan, with Rev. Shane Campbell officiating. Burial will be at the Carrington Cemetery in the Spring. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Wednesday, February 28, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Becky was born June 4, 1952, in Carrington, ND, the daughter of Les and Velora (Hansen) Hollingsworth. She grew up and attended Carrington School and graduated on May 28, 1970. After high school, Becky went on to ND State School of Science in Wahpeton, graduating on May 26, 1972, with an Associate of Science degree. She then went to Minot State College and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in education, graduating on May 24, 1974. She later returned to Minot State College in August of 1980 for her Master of Science degree in speech pathology. Becky taught schools in Morton County from 1978 and retired from Fort Lincoln in Mandan in 2017, after 37 years of teaching. She had a strong commitment and was actively involved with Church of St. Joseph. Her faith was very deep. Becky enjoyed canning, fishing with her brother John, loved to be working in the garden, and helping her mom and many friends. She was always there to help if you needed her. She was compassionate and always a caregiver to those in need. Becky is survived by her mother, Velora, Carrington; her brothers, Tom (Nancy), Mandan, and John (Michelle), Carrington; two nieces, Jessica (Mike) Sloan, Bismarck, and Bethany, Fargo; two nephews, Danny, Carrington, and Jake, Mandan; and one great-nephew, Lincoln Sloan. She was preceded in death by her father, Les; grandparents, Frank and Minnie Hollingsworth, Olaf and Lillie Hansen; and special aunt, Rosemary Hollingsworth.
