Obituary

Richard Ehli, 87, Bismarck, died December 18, 2017, at Benedictine Living Center, Garrison. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Church of Corpus Christi, 1919 N 2nd St., Bismarck, with Rev. Terry Wipf officiating. Burial will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan. Cremation has taken place. Richard was born in North Dakota on March 2, 1930, the son of Frederick and Theresa (Zimmerman) Ehli. He grew up and attended school in North Dakota. Richard enlisted in the U.S. Army on January 16, 1951, served in Korea, and was honorably discharged from the military on June 29, 1956.   Richard married Anna Frieze in 1955 at the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit Church in Bismarck, and to this union, three children were born. Richard and Anna made their home in Oregon and Montana and in 2007, they returned to Bismarck. Richard is survived by his three children, Rick Ehli, Seattle, WA, Pamela (Mike) Klinger, Missoula, MT, and Brian (Tracy) Ehli, Denver, CO; three grandchildren, Lisa Norman, Gene Ehli, and Jennifer Hoadley;  two great-grandchildren, Nigel Hoadley and Evelyn Hoadley; his brother, Phillip; and three sisters, Elizabeth, Alice, and Bobbi.. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna in 2012. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Catholic Charities of North Dakota.
