Richard "Rick" Lynn Schaible

Richard Lynn Schaible, 61, Bismarck, ND formerly of Mott, died unexpectedly on July 24, 2019.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday July 30, 2019 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, ND.

Rick was born April 2, 1958 in Fargo, ND, the son of Ruben Henry and Leona Monica (Mosbrucker) Schaible.

Rick graduated from Mott Lincoln High School and went on to graduate from BSC. He started with the Bismarck Police Department and eventually moved up to detective. He retired after thirty-four years.

Rick met the love of his life, Mary, at Donut Land. They married May 31, 1985. Together they had four children, Zachery, Cole (Megan), Noah, and Hanna. He became a grandpa to Raven in December 2018.

Rick loved spending time with his wife and kids, especially outdoors. He was passionate about fishing, hunting, gardening, and motorcycling. Above all else, Rick loved spending time with the newest highlight of his life, his first grandchild Raven.

Survivors include his wife, Mary (Scherr); children, Zachery, Cole (Megan), Noah, and Hanna; granddaughter, Raven; brothers and sisters, David (Phely) Schaible, Darlene (Gene) Broughton, Val (John) Scott, Roland Schaible, LeeAnn (Rob) Messer; Mary’s sisters, brother, families, and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Rick in death were his parents, Ruben and Leona Schaible; in-laws, Beanie and Lillian Scherr;  sister, Becky Schaible; brother-in-law, Ross Kunz; and his nephew Steven Steele.

Memorials can be made to Bismarck Cancer Center and Ross Kunz Memorial Scholarship Fund.
