Rick Hanson

Rick Hanson, 51, Sioux Falls, SD, passed away September 14, 2019. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, September 24, 2019, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 203 Mitchell Ave S, Steele, ND. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Steele, ND. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Rick was the youngest son of Russell and Mildred Hanson of Steele, ND. He graduated from Steele High School in 1986 and attended NDSU. He later joined the Coast Guard and was honorably discharged. He married Jackie Montgomery on May 19, 2000 in Steele and later moved to Sioux Falls and resided there until the time of his death. He worked for Jamestown Public Schools, Jamestown, Cloverdale Meats in Mandan, various companies and area farmer in Steele, CAT Bus Driver in Bismarck, and Syverson Tile & Stone in Sioux Falls. He enjoyed hunting and woodworking and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Jackie; his stepchildren, James (Ruth) Houseman, Virginia Houseman, and Winston (Rose) Houseman; his parents; two brothers, Craig (Jean), Jamestown, ND and Jay (Cindy), Billings, MT; five grandchildren; his nephew, Steven (Tammy) Hanson, and his grand-nephew, Archer. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Irving and Emma Hanson and Frank and Golda Johnson; and two uncles.
