Robert “Bob” John Mazurek, Sr. went to heaven May 8, 2023.
A funeral service will be held to celebrate his life at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 12 at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave, Bismarck.
Interment will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery immediately following the service.
Bob was born on May 10,1930 in Ardoch, North Dakota to Francis Mazurek. After graduation from Grand Forks High School, he joined the Army and became a veteran of the Korean War. Upon returning to the states in 1951, he married his sweetheart Elsie Swedberg and had two sons, Robert Jr. and Roger. He worked for Northern Improvement from 1948-1992 as an asphalt plant foreman. He also went into business with Elsie and together they ran E and B Beauty and Barber supply for 30 years. Shortly after Elsie went to heaven in 2010, he moved to Primrose/Hay Creek Lodge and lived there until his passing. He enjoyed many friendships there and felt blessed in how well the staff took care of him.
Bob's hobbies were fishing, hunting, camping and following Twins Baseball with his children and grandchildren in his motor home. His favorite fishing trips were with his sons and their families to the North Dakota Governor's Cup. Bob believed in the Good Lord and living day by day. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. He served as treasurer and on the church council. He also belonged to 49 Engineers Union, VFW, American Legion, and Elks Club.
Bob is survived by his sons, Robert Jr. (Marty), Roger (Jodi); grandchildren, Robert III; Levi (Rachael), Andrea (Brian), Shanna (Jon); great-grandchildren, Anndelyn, Natalie, Wyatt, Marlee, and Katarina.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elsie and granddaughter, Cassie.
