Robert (Bob) was born to Freda (Gerber) and Richard Schuette on January 30, 1939, in Bismarck, ND. He was the youngest of ten children. Bob graduated from Braddock High School in 1957.
He married Shirley Ruscheinsky on February 18, 1961. Bob lived and farmed his entire life on the Schuette family farm north of Braddock. He and Shirley retired from farming in 2003. They continued to live on the farm until 2013 when they moved to Bismarck. They took pride in the farmstead and continued to mow and take care of it until they both entered Touchmark Memory Care in 2019. Bob moved to St. Vincent’s Care Center in late 2022 after having COVID.
Bob loved his grandkids and they loved him. Bob was the only grandpa all seven grandkids ever knew and he took pride in spoiling each one of them. He lit up when the grandkids and great-grandkids came for a visit.
Bob loved to play pinochle with his family and friends. He also liked to go fishing. It was always “a quarter for the first, biggest and most fish.” He liked to visit his kids when time away from the farm allowed for a trip to Bismarck, Wahpeton or Fargo.
Bob is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Lori and David Brown of Bismarck and Sheila and Matt Bohn of Wahpeton; one daughter-in-law, Tammy Schuette of Fargo; seven grandchildren: Kelsey (Cody) Hanson, Lacey Schulte, Lexy (Waylon) Schmidt, Madison Bohn, Aidan Bohn, Ashley (Tim) Newman and Amanda Schuette; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard “Jiggs” and Deanna Schuette; one sister-in-law, Celia Schuette; and one brother-in-law, Robert Muchow.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley in 2021; twin sons, Randy Schuette and Ricky Schuette; brothers, Maynard Schuette, Alton Schuette, Vern Schuette, and Harry Schuette; sisters, Lorraine “Bunny” Wolf, Eileen “Toots” Wilson, Audrey “Honey” Van Dyke, and Althea “Dolly” Muchow.
The family would like to thank Touchmark Care Center and St. Vincent’s Nursing Home for the wonderful care of both our parents.
