Rodney D. “Pete” Peterson, 90, Bismarck, died January 21, 2018. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held this summer. Rodney was born on April 29, 1927, in Walcott, ND, to Clarence and Charlotte (Bergerud) Peterson. He enlisted in the Navy and was a cook on the ship USS Pavlic, serving in the South Pacific. While working at Bismarck Hospital he met the love of his life, Delores Torgerson. They were married on September 4, 1949, and were married 67 years until her death in 2016. Pete is survived by his children, Debra (Pat) Haar, Colorado Springs, CO, Brian, Bismarck, and Bruce (Tammy), Rio Verde, AZ; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Elaine Bonneville. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dee; his parents, Clarence Peterson and Charlotte Chase; grandson, Eric Haar; his step-brother, Robert B. Chase. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice, Camp Grassick, or Boy Scouts of America.
