Roger Anderson

Roger Anderson, 70, of Mandan, passed away on September 1, 2023 at his home.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 AM, Wednesday September 13, 2023 at First Lutheran Church, 408 9th St. NW, Mandan.

Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Roger was born in Lewiston, ID on February 11, 1953 to James and Elsie Anderson. Roger spent his younger years growing up in the Lewiston area, it is here his love blossomed for nature, the outdoors and most of all his captivation of geography.

He spent his career out on the road, traveling the country side. He was filled with the love of other people. His sense of adventure sent him all over the world. Be it for pleasure or for his years spent in the military. His wife and him traveled across the continents of Europe, seeing sites of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. He was deployed, fighting for our country between 2010-2011.

After that, they decided he was an old fart and it was time to retire from the military after 30 years of serving his country. In retirement he enjoyed many things: taking long walks, every day he could with some of his most beloved friends. He loved working alongside his most trusted coworkers at the Ronald McDonald House. He also looked forward to camping, hiking, and kayaking as often as he could. He had an outstanding love for his old sports cars, and you could always see him cruising around town in style. His life was filled with hope, ambition, pride for his country, love for his family, his treasured doggies, and he enjoyed every day with a smile on his face.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Anderson; son, Tim Anderson; daughter, Rachel Bauer; mother, Elsie Anderson; brother, Kurt Anderson; along with many cousins, nieces and nephews

Roger was preceded in death by his daughter, Renee; father, James Anderson; and his furry friend and companion, Ty.
