Roger Reule, 87, Bismarck, died January 19, 2019, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. Private family services were held. Roger was born July 31, 1931, in Medina, ND, to John and Rachel (Schauer) Reule. He graduated from Medina High School. Roger taught in a country school for one year. He served with pride in the U.S. Marine Corps for two years and was honorably discharged. Upon his return from the service, Roger worked for the ND Highway Department. Roger married Doretta Koenig in Woodworth, ND, on April 30, 1960. Roger and Doretta owned and operated a Tupperware Franchise named Golden Reule Sales. Roger was a member of the American Legion, 40 et Eight, Mason, and Shriners. He was also a 50-year member of the Elks, and a member of the United Church of Christ, where he took part in the choir. Roger was fortunate to have been able to travel and do what he loved most, hunting and fishing. Some of his most notable trips were his elk hunting trips to Wyoming. He and Doretta enjoyed many cruises and trips throughout their 58 years of marriage. Roger enjoyed visiting with and meeting new people. It was through these experiences he shared his memories and his stories. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, attending their hockey games, soccer games, and other activities. Roger is survived by his wife, Doretta, Bismarck; his daughter, Nona (Nick) Sibla; four grandchildren, Nicole (Tim) Green, Matthew (Anniina) Binegar, Jackson (Brittney Hearn) Binegar, Nash (Amber Wald) Binegar, all of Bismarck; six great-grandchildren, Ellie Green, Ava Green, Jack Green, Milena Binegar, Piper Sanford, Baya Binegar; his sister, Kathryn (Vernon) Heinle, Medina, ND; sister-in-law, Lila Reule, Medina, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Joanne and Renee; and two brothers, John and Jerome. “You were ready, but our hearts were not.” Rest in peace, loved one. Memorials may be given in Roger’s name to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery or the Alzheimer’s Association. The family would like to thank Dr. Dendy, Katie Stensgard, the nurses, and all who showed kindness to Roger at Sanford Health.
