Roland Eugene Celley, Sr. went to heaven on October 21, 2019.
Roland’s life will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm on Monday, October 28, 2019 at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck.
Burial will take place at 2:00 pm following the service at the Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
He was born on January 7, 1934, in Timmer, ND to Alvin Harold Celley and Lyda Helen Gifford of Timmer, ND. Roland was the middle child. His older brother was Charles Kenneth Celley and younger brother was Dwight Allen Celley.
Roland served in the United States Army from 1955 – 1961 and spent a portion of his service stationed in Germany. Upon his return to ND, he married June Ione Rhone and had five children, Mary Ione (Celley) Fischer, Roland Eugene Celley, Jr., Donna June (Celley) Bjerklie, Charles Alvin Celley, and Robert James Celley. Roland and his family farmed and ranched north of Wing, ND. Roland and June divorced in 1977.
Roland was wed to Julie Maxine Rambo in 1983. Julie has five grown children from her previous marriage, including Marjorie Mattson, Jim Rambo, John Rambo, Judy Tschider, and Jeff Rambo. Roland and Julie retired and moved to Bismarck, ND in 1995. They happily enjoyed retirement and moved into the Edgewood Vista in 2015. In the later years of his life, Roland enjoyed visits out to the country and weekly Saturday breakfasts out with his family.
Roland was greeted in heaven by his parents, Alvin and Lyda; his daughters, Mary and Donna; and his brothers, Charles and Dwight.
Roland is survived by his wife of 36 years, Julie; his son; Roland Jr., Charles, and Robert; as well as ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His presence will be greatly missed.
