Ron married Mary Don Lippert at St. James Catholic Church in Jamestown, ND, on June 6, 1975. To this marriage two sons were born: Dr. Marc Miller and Dr. Michael Miller

Ron enjoyed watching his boys grow up and faithfully followed their school events, sports activities, and band concerts.

Ron habitually viewed the news, politics (though irritating), the Giants in baseball, the Vikings in football, NDSU Bison football, and he liked to keep tabs on Carson Wentz. He liked reading and going to Medora, Deadwood, and casinos.

Ron is survived by his wife Mary; sons Marc and Michael (Caryn, grandson Parker and grand-dog Daisy); brother Gene (Barbara) Carew; sister Sharon (Robert) Andersen; sister’s -in-law Marie Carew and Monica Newton; brother-in-law Robert (Judy) Lippert; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents M.A. and Irene Miller; brothers Don Carew and Lon Miller; sisters Gloria Engler & Yvonne Mosbrucker.

Ron was deeply indebted to the outstanding staff at St. Alexius Medical Center for his exceptional care that lasted 124 days in 2008, of which 63 days were in the ICU unit.  Their Kidney Dialysis Unit and Pulmonary Rehab facility were a home away from home for many years. Ron was also very thankful for the excellent ongoing care provided by Dr. John Erickstad and his staff at Mid Dakota Clinic. Ron was deeply appreciative of the compassionate care he received from the doctors at Sanford Health and the heartwarming care from the staff on Floor 7 NE where he spent the last nine days of his life.

Ron is donating his body to the UND School of Medicine so Inurnment will take place at a later date at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
