Ronald Lee Peterson lived a lot of lives in his 69 years and gave everything all to the people around him. If you were in front of him, you had his best attention, good intentions and a willing heart.
Ron wanted only to add, never take away. He was both logical and off the cuff, loved a wholesome prank and never put anybody down. He always saw you as your best self, and was pleasant, positive and always asking about you. Every time you saw Ron, he’d be asking about you, remembering your mom was in the hospital or your kid was graduating from school.
Ron spent his life doing acts of service, showing Christ in him every day. He was always willing to do the job at church that needed doing, from shoveling snow, to ushering, or driving the shuttle so all the Lillians and Esthers in town could get to the Sunday service. Ron knew his place in heaven did not depend on his works, but God’s grace.
Ron liked to work and listing his jobs only illustrates his preference to help people out. He’s been a teacher, a deacon, part time driver, a full-time grandpa and good family man.
After making the decision not to continue cancer treatments, Ron died at home and at peace on Saturday, November 16, 2024, surrounded by love. Thank you to the incredible professionals on 7E at Sanford, where people give all of themselves to their oncology work. Please drink a root beer float in honor of Ron, and think of him next time you’re on the golf course or looking out on a prairie sunrise.
Ron is survived by generations of people, friends and family, and in all those circles, Ron impacted everyone with good intentions and kindness. If you knew Ron, for a short time or longer, come to Bismarck Baptist at 2211 LaForest Ave on Thursday night for the 5:00 visitation, 6:00 prayer service and Friday for the 11:00 am Memorial Service.
