Ron was born February 26, 1946 in Bismarck, ND to Irene & Elmer Reinhardt. Ron passed peacefully on December 5, 2019 at CHI St. Alexius Hospital after numerous hospital visits over the past few months battling various illnesses. Over the last few days of his life, he was fortunate to be surrounded by love from family and friends.
Ron graduated from Bismarck High School in 1964. Throughout his life Ron worked at many different occupations. These included working in family-owned businesses such as the Streeter Locker Plant in Streeter, ND and Tops Motel in Sterling, ND. In addition, he was lucky to work beside his father at B & R Groceries in Bismarck, ND. Other occupations Ron held included being a meat cutter, electrical/general construction worker, land resource man, and groundskeeper.
Ron had a love for the outdoors providing him many hours of fishing, hunting, and camping. To assist with his fishing hobby, Ron started Practical Tackle selling his hand made tackle. He was a member of the Driscoll Wildlife Club for years, assisting with releasing of pheasants each year. In addition, the love of the outdoors lead him down the road to becoming an advocate collector of Coleman lanterns, lamps, shades, stoves, funnels, pumps and parts. Ron searched numerous US states and into Canada to build his collection. This collection of Coleman items became quite impressive and many conversations were held explaining the different models. Rummaging and going to auction sales also was a large part of Ron’s life. This lead him to purchase some very unique items, leaving many to say "WHY do you need that or WHY did you purchase that?" Ron also spent many years playing pool and darts and participated many years in the league playing around the Bismarck and Sterling area. He was lucky to play on pool teams with many friends and most of all his dart team that consisted of his sons Kevin and Wayne, and brother Todd.
Ron completed all that he loved with Koreen Ressler, his life partner of 37 years. Over that 37 years, they made their home in Mandan, then Bismarck, and most recently back to Mandan. Also during the years, they spent a large amount of their time at Tops Motel in Sterling, ND owned by Ron’s mother.
Ron is survived by his life partner, Koreen Ressler; his children with Cheryl Doll including Kevin (Melva) Reinhardt, Napoleon, ND; Kameron Reinhardt, Bismarck, ND; Corey (Gina) Reinhardt, Bismarck, ND; and Christina (Richard) Miller, Corsicana, TX; daughter-in-law Judy Reinhardt, Mandan, ND; his grandchildren Casandra Dahlquist, Royce Reinhardt, Brittney Dvorak, Ashley Lee, Kambree Reinhardt, Lexie Scherbenske, Courtney Reinhardt, Briella Reinhardt, Lilly Reinhardt, Elijah Miller, and Ethan Miller; two great-grandchildren Harper and Cruz Lee; his sisters and brother, Connie Bjelland, Yvonne (John) Heaton, Sherry (Dan) Wilson, Todd (Raedell) Reinhardt; sister-in-law Kathy Reinhardt; aunts Helen Rehn, Rose Halvorson, Florence (Alfred) Schumacher; and many cousins along with nieces and nephews.
