Ronald Sieler, 90, Bismarck, died August 16, 2018 at Sanford Health, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday August 18, 2018 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Ronald Sieler was born February 9, 1928, on a farm near Wishek, ND, to his parents John P. and Elizabeth(Mueller) Sieler. In his elementary years he lived in Sunnyside, WA, where his dad worked in Handford, WA., at the atomic bomb plant. They later moved back to Wishek. Ron attended Wishek High School until his sophomore year when his father died suddenly and he had to quit school to help support his widowed mother. He worked putting in the Wishek City Water Works; giving all of his paycheck to his mother except for $5.00 per week for himself. When the work was completed he went to work in Bismarck as a carpenter and later moved to Billings, MT, where he worked in a slaughter house. He married Wilma Springer from Wishek on July 8, 1951 at Calvary Baptist Church, Billings, MT. They returned to Bismarck to be near their immediate families. He worked for Conrad Publishing Company. After leaving Conrad Publishing Company he worked for Montgomery Ward for 34 years until his retirement in 1990. Ron lost Wilma to cancer in April of 1987. He married Ileen Schuler Pudwill on October 8, 1988, at Bismarck Baptist Church, Bismarck, N.D. Looking forward to Ron’s retirement, they purchased a Hobby Farm in Menoken, ND in 1989 and lived there until August of 2016, when Ron was forced to move to town because of declining health. His dream had always been to have a farm, and he enjoyed every moment of the time he spent there with his animals. He entered Missouri Slope Lutheran Nursing Home on Dec 22, 2017. He is survived by his wife, Ileen; his son, Steven; his daughter, Sharon (Robert) Pfenning; three grandchildren, Tim, Minneapolis, MN, Jason, Devils Lake, ND, Emily (Kyle) Zahn, Bismarck, ND; five great grandchildren, Ethnie, Kinzie, Keelie, and Emberlyn Zahn and Wednesday Sieler; three stepchildren, Rodger (Judy) Pudwill, Tacoma Park, MD; Jonathan (Colleen) Pudwill, Eagen, MN and Susan (Pudwill) Nashua, NH; four step grandchildren, David (Natalie) and Andrew (Lana) Pudwill, Alicia Shoemake, and James Pudwill, five step great grandchildren, Alexander, Lenka, and Alana Pudwill and Asher and Avery Shoemake.
