Rose (Wagner) Hertz, 90, passed away peacefully at St. Vincent’s Care Center, Monday, July 2, 2018. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, July 9, at Faith Lutheran Church, 1402 E. Avenue C, Bismarck, with Rev. Jon Splichal Larson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm Sunday, July 8, at St. Vincent Care Center, 1021 N 26th St., Bismarck, and from 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm Sunday, July 8, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave., Bismarck. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Rose was born March 3, 1928, to Wilhelm and Christina (Eippert) Wagner of Tuttle, ND. She was raised on the family farm northwest of Tuttle, where she lived until her marriage to Emil Hertz of Goodrich, ND, on October 15, 1946. They farmed south of Goodrich until 1961 when they moved to Bismarck. Before retiring in 1993, Rose was employed at St. Vincent’s Care Center for thirty years. Following her retirement, she volunteered her time with the Senior Companion Program for several years. She enjoyed working with the elderly and people with disabilities. Rose was a member of Faith Lutheran Church. Until her health declined, she enjoyed belonging to their Friendship Circle and volunteering for church activities. In addition, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, sewing, crocheting and reading. She is survived by five daughters, Rita John (Gene Lehr), Bismarck, Karen Mclean, New Salem, June Hertz, Bismarck, Cheryl Johnson, Towner, and Gail (Ed) Nagel, Bismarck; ten grandchildren, Kevin (Stacy) John, Mandan, Rhonda John, Bismarck, Dawn Brorby, Larimore, Lori (Tim) Hillestad, Bismarck, Justin (Lea) Mclean, Charlotte, NC, Aubrey Johnson, Fargo, Isaiah Johnson, Towner, Vanessa (Phil) Harr, Mandan, Lindsay Nagel, Bismarck, and Paul Nagel, Bismarck; thirteen great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Carl (Anita) Wagner, Tuttle; and many nieces and nephews. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Emil; one son, Michael Hertz; one granddaughter, Nicole John; her parents, Wilhelm and Christina; six brothers, George, Jacob, Henry, William, Fred and Albert; six sisters, Pauline Morlock, Anna Keroff, Christina Schaffer, Emilia Byers, Freda Kahler and Esther Hertz; and two sons-in-law, Al John and Gene Johnson.
