Rose Marie Henke

Rose Marie Henke, 82, Bismarck, a friend, colleague, favorite aunt, and collaborator in mischief left this earth and many sad souls behind on Tuesday, October 8, 2019. A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 25, 10:00 AM, at Parkway Funeral Service 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.

Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 25 at the ND Veteran's Cemetery.

Rose Marie was born on January 23, 1937 near Monango, ND to Jacob and Rosina (Kaul) Fiechtner. She married Dr. Warren Henke on July 7, 1963 and they celebrated 50 devoted years together.

Her physical size was not much more than the fourth graders she taught at Myhre Elementary School for many years. Instead, her size and strength were in her passion for teaching and challenging those young minds. Whatever Rose Marie did in life, she did it with infectious gusto.

Whether she was teaching, shopping for craft items, or going on her favorite trip “south,” it was always with a sense of frolic and fun.

Rose Marie is survived by many nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren; a multitude of friends and awesome neighbors who were truly family. We prayed for 10,000 angels. We know they ushered her to Heaven’s Gate.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Warren; her sisters Esther Schulz and Lenora Priebe; brother Victor Fiechtner; and her parents.

We will miss you, Rosie, but know that we will see you again. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charity of your choosing to honor Rosie.
