Rudolph "Rudy" Wolf, 80, passed away on May 12, 2024.

Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.  

Rudolph Melvin Wolf (Rudy) was born June 14, 1943, in Elgin, ND to Jacob and Magdalena (Schock) Wolf.  He was the “baby” of the Wolf family.   He met and married the love of his life and wife of 56 years, Mary Shanahan, on November 25, 1967.  

After marrying, Rudy and Mary lived in Wahpeton, ND later moving to Pierre, SD and Denver, CO putting their roots in Bismarck ND in 1974. While in Bismarck they raised their family of three daughters and developed Rudy’s business in the refrigeration industry until his retirement. After retirement Rudy and Mary spent their winters in Arizona and their summers in Bismarck.

Rudy was known for his sense of humor, quick wit and being the life of a party.  Rudy was a family man. Not only to his wife, daughters and grandkids, but also to his nieces, nephews and other extended family.  He liked nothing more than sharing stories with his friends and family in Bismarck, Elgin and Arizona. He was a hard worker and loved farming, raising hogs and ostrich on his small farm outside of Bismarck until his retirement. 

Rudy is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary and three daughters: Sandy (Mike) Stevahn; Nicole (Nate Atkinson) Wolf; Jennifer (Dale) Olson. He is also survived by his four grandchildren whom he adored: Ryan Atkinson, Wyatt Stevahn; Paige Stevahn, Colton Wolf-Atkinson. Rudy is also survived by his brother-in-law, Jim (Leona) Ulrich and sister-in-law, Sharron (Jake) Wolf and many loved nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jake Wolf and his sisters: Lorraine Weikum, Leona Ulrich, Deloris Bader, Luella Baesler, Alverna Vietz, Bernetta Tietz, Bernice Thompson, Darlene Nagel, baby Claudina, and an infant brother. 

In lieu of flowers, Rudy’s family asks memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
