Russell Malcom Heaton, 90, left this earth on October 30, 2017, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. Services will be held at 1:30pm Friday, November 3, at McCabe United Methodist Church, 1030 N 6th St, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Thursday, November 2, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7pm.Burial will be at Menoken Cemetery, Menoken, ND. Russell was born April 3, 1927, in Bismarck to L. E. Jr. (Jake) and Ethel (McKee) Heaton. He went to St. Mary’s School through the 8th grade. On November 30, 1946, he married Lucile Craven and together they farmed near McKenzie area and raised their ten children. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends over coffee or meals and talking about his livestock. He always loved a good story and had a lot to tell. Russell is survived by his sons, John (Yvonne), Driscoll, David (Barb), Steele, Tim (Angee), Bismarck, Pat (Connie), McKenzie, Tom (Cindy), Lincoln, Mike (Corrine), McKenzie, and Bert (Jodi), Bismarck; his daughters, Nancy (Brant) Malsam, Bismarck, and Beth (Mike) Leintz, Menoken; 24 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Gietzen, Glen Ullin, Geneva (Philip) Kurtz, Steele, and Virginia (Lloyd) Benz, Steele; in-laws, Catherine Hanson, Bismarck, Elizabeth Ennen, Menoken, and John Calvin (Jane) Craven, OR, and Arlene Craven, WY; many nieces, nephews, and special friends, Harriet, Colleen and Lewis. He was preceded in death by wife, Lucile; daughter, Mary, parents; in- laws; sister and brother-in-law, Joanne and Mike Willette; brothers-in-law, William Gietzen, Bernard, James, Gerald, and Donald Craven, Lyle Ennen, Melvin Hanson, Harry Roberson; sisters-in-law, Buryl and Ernest Doehle, and Lillian Craven; and Robert Heaton.
