Ruth was born April 13, 1922, in Hebron, ND, the daughter of Carl and Elsie (Dubbe) Metzger. She was raised and educated at Hebron and in 1940 moved with her family to Napoleon. In 1942 the family moved to their permanent home in Bismarck. On June 24, 1943, Ruth married Robert M. Hart at Fort Monmouth, NJ, where Robert served as 1st Lieutenant in the Army Signal Corp. Robert died on May 10, 1987, at Garrison, ND.
Ruth was a member of The Sanctuary Church and the VFW Auxiliary. She volunteered at the Burleigh County Senior Center, Medcenter One, and Q & R Clinic, and enjoyed her time when she was also involved in Calvary Senior Shepherd. In her spare time, Ruth also enjoyed craft projects. Family get-togethers were very important to Ruth, and she loved her friends.
Ruth will be deeply missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Jerry Pritchett, Bismarck; nine grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and her sister and brother-in-law, Susan and James Schneider, Bismarck.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; her son, Bob; daughter-in-law, Nancy; her parents; and her three brothers, Paul, Richard, and Donald Metzger.
We want to thank the staff of The Terrace for the wonderful care and support over the last eight years.
