Ruth Stark, 100, Bismarck, passed away on September 20, 2024.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00AM, Wednesday, September 25, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway Bismarck.
Visitation will begin an hour prior to the service.
Interment in Tuttle, North Dakota.
Ruth Stark was born on September 4th 1924 to Ada and Edwin Newton on the Family Farm eight miles northeast of Tuttle, North Dakota. She was the third to the youngest of 12 children. Ruth attended country school through the 8th grade and graduated from the Tuttle High School in 1943.
Ruth married Billie "Sonny" Stark in 1944. She was raised and lived on a farm all her life except for the few years she worked in Bismarck. After 27 wonderful years of living in her home one mile east of Tuttle, she moved to Bismarck and later to assisted living.
Ruth loved quilting and crocheting. Many of her quilts and throws are still lovingly used by her family. She also enjoyed her garden. Ruth loved hosting family holidays and always had cookies, donuts, and coffee ready for anyone who stopped by for a visit.
She is survived by three sons, Warren Stark, Tuttle, Ricky (Bobbie) Stark, Tuttle, Robin (Lori) Stark, Hastings, MN; two daughters, Rosemary Scott, Lewistown, MT, Lois Stark, Mandan; 14 grandchildren (Timothy, Tanya, Tami, Tina, Michael, Pamela, Gregory, Misty, Kayla, Eric, Nicholas, Kristen, Jacob, and Kaitlin) and numerous great-grandchildren as well as many great-great grandchildren. She also leaves behind very special nieces and nephews.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers, Elmer, Earl, Harvey, Alvin, Ernest and Edward; five sisters, Esther Wetzel, Alice Nelson, Mabel Cox, Irene Johnson and an infant sister; daughter-in-law, Barb Stark; son-in-law, Bill Scott and her husband, Billie "Sonny" Stark.
