Sally Jean Bitz, 74 Bismarck, died on Nov. 12th, 2018, at Rochester, MN. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Monday, November 19, at Church of the Ascension, 1825 S 3rd St., Bismarck, with Rev. Msgr. James Braaten as celebrant and Rev. Marvin Klemmer concelebrant. Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Sunday, November 18, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 4:00 pm. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Sally Jean Bitz was the daughter of Gust and Leah Wanner, was born on May 18, 1944, in Wishek. She attended school in Wishek graduating in 1963, with her dad, who received his GED at the same time. Sally married John Bitz Burnstad on June 5, 1965, and were blessed with two children, Mark (Mitch) and Julie. Sally enjoyed cleaning, shopping, and going to the casino. She also liked collecting roosters, and she also had a love for Elvis that she passed on to her children. Mostly she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She worked various jobs cleaning and doing daycare. Sally is survived by her husband, John; one son, Mark (Mitch & Patty) Bitz, daughter, Julie (Jim) Tormaschy; one brother, Leland (Suzanne) Wanner, Illinois; one sister, Betty (Larry) Halverson, Torrance, CA; one brother-in-law, Alfred Bitz; sister-in-law, Alvina Kluth; five grandchildren, Levi, Hunter, Cody, Kayla, and Gracie, one nephew Shannon; two niece’s, Kim and Dana. Sally was preceded in death by her parents.
