Shae Noele (Hug) Byrum

Shae Noele (Hug) Byrum, 47 of Mandan passed away November 12, 2023.

A memorial service will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, November 20 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Shae was born March 2nd, 1976 in Bismarck to her mother, LeAna Tilden and her sister, Shannon.

In 1983, she got her forever dad, Tom Hug and moved to his house is Elgin, IL.  When Shae was 14, her love of animals helped her get her first job at a pet store in PA.

The family returned to North Dakota from Pennsylvania in 1993.

Shae attended schools in Fargo, Elgin, IL., Pottstown, PA, and Bismarck, ND.

In 1999, she married Keith Byrum.

Shae loved spending time with her friends and family and had a love of animals including her two cats, Hannah and Cameron, and several turtles. She would take care of any animal in need. One of her favorite places to visit was the Bismarck Zoo. She went there many times to see the animals.  She also had a deep love of the Missouri River and spent time every week walking along the banks, picking up trash and rescuing turtles that were in need. She loved gardening and spending time outdoors.  Shae was extremely creative and talented.  She was very proud of her work keeping the Schilling building clean and well maintained. Everything had a purpose with Shae and she was always on the look-out for items that people could use. She helped anyone in need.

She was preceded in death by her dad: Tom Hug, her uncles: Lorne Jose and Jerry Scholle, aunt: Laurel Pearson and her grandparents: Ervin and Florence Jose, Tom & Ann Louise Hug.

She is survived by her daughter: Lauren Byrum (Bismarck), son: Branden Byrum (Mandan), mom: LeAna Hug (Bismarck), sister and niece:  Shannon & Kayla Breuer (Fargo), and grandsons:  Theo Greff (Mott), and Kasen Haff (Mandan), aunts: Lynette Hopfauf, Pat Scholle, and Liz Dunn, uncles:  Larry and Layne Jose and Steve Hug, half sibs: Jamie, Floyd, and Steven, and numerous cousins.
