Sharon Mittleider, 79, passed away at Wentz Living Center in Napoleon on January 1st 2025.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, January 6, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 203 Mitchell Ave S, Steele, ND.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, with a prayer service starting 7:00 pm, Sunday, January 5 at Eastgate Steele Memorial Chapel, 518 Mitchell Ave N, Steele.
Sharon was born on November 5, 1945 in Lake Williams, ND to Wilhelm and Dora Williamson. She was raised in Lake Williams and later moved to Steele, where she attended school.
On January 18, 1963 she married Edwin Mittleider. They moved frequently due to Edwin's construction jobs. In May of 1969 they moved to Steele and started Ed's Excavating and Concrete. Sharon was bookkeeper and gravel truck driver for the business until Edwin's death in March of 1992.
Following Edwin's death, Sharon continued to work as a secretary and bookkeeper for other companies until her retirement. Sharon was a volunteer for the Kidder County Ambulance for many years.
She is survived by her daughter, Tammy (Wayne Fettig) Birrenkott and a son, Terry Mittleider; five grandchildren, Jacob Birrenkott, William Birrenkott, Edwin (Morgan) Birrenkott, TJ (Jen) Mittleider and Tiffany Quast; five great-grandchildren, Bentley, Makenna and Clayton Birrenkott, Melody Quast and Zachary Kramlich; brothers-in-law, Mike (Karen) Mittleider, Chris Mittleider and sister-in-law, Norma (Reiny) Morlock, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; parents-in-law; brothers-in-law, Eddy (Edith), Godheilf, Daniel (Mary), Marvin (Paulette); sister-in-law, Bernice (Melvin), an aunt that was more like a sister, Esther Grant, and a special friend, Butch Baker.
