Steve Jahner

Steve John Jahner, 80, of Bismarck, passed away with his family at his side, March 14, 2019.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:30 pm, Wednesday, March 20 at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, 519 Raymond St, Bismarck, ND.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 19 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil will begin at 7:00 pm.

Steve was born in Braddock, ND to Adam and Rosina (Noel) Jahner. He graduated from St. Mary’s Central High School and served in the army.

On June 1^st, 1967 Steve married Patricia Joyce and to that union had five children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Throughout his life, Steve worked various construction jobs and was also a member of the Laborer’s Union 563.

Steve enjoyed spending lots of time with his family and friends. Steve was always willing to give a lending hand especially when a friend needed a mechanic. Some of Steve’s favorite pastimes including spending time with his nephews working on cars and fishing. Blessed in this life with 80 years, he enjoyed watching sports, playing sports, and being a coach. He also played the accordion and looked forward to listening to polka music on Sunday mornings. Every Sunday he and his wife attended Mass giving thanks and praise to why we’re here.

Knowing that he has been blessed with a wonderful family and friends, Steve heard God calling him to Heaven, knowing his job here on earth was finished. He will truly be missed.

Steve is survived by his wife Patricia of 51 years; his children, Tracee (Bob) Edick, Marcie (Guy Boshee) Felt, Joyce (Clint) George, Stephanie Jahner, and Scott Jahner; grandchildren, Bobby and Mayla Edick, Hannah and Jacob Felt, Brittany George Steckler, Bree George, Jaselyn Jahner and Aleda Krenzel (Scott’s daughter); and one great granddaughter, Nevaeh Steckler.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam and Rosina; his 12 siblings; and his granddaughter, Brandy George; also Jason Kolstriech (Jaselyn’s dad).
