Susan “Sue” Riely Gustin, 59, Bismarck, passed away Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Sanford Health, after a short illness.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM at Church of the Ascension in Bismarck with Msgr. James Braaten officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. A time of gathering for friends and family will be held on Thursday from 6:00 – 7:00 PM at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil service will begin at 7:00 PM.Sue was born in Grand Forks, ND, on January 24, 1958. Sue graduated from Unity High School in Petersburg, ND, in 1976. Immediately after high school, Sue moved to Bismarck to attend college where she earned her degree in respiratory therapy in which she worked her entire career.Sue was married to Greg Gustin from 1987 to 2000, and their daughter Ashley was born in 1989. Sue was a jack-of-all-trades and was very artistic and handy. Sue loved to learn new things and quickly mastered many. Animals held a special place in her heart; among them were her horses and the many dogs she gave a better home to throughout the years. Sue loved nothing more than to spend time with her family and treasured her faith with God.She was survived by her daughter, Ashley Beard and husband Casey, along with her grandchildren, Finley and Teagan, all of Lincoln, ND; and her siblings, Bonnie and Dick Vasichek, Michigan, ND, Pat Riely, Petersburg, ND, Marsha Riely, Raleigh, NC, Jim and Janet Riely, Watford City, ND, Kenneth and Kathy Jarolimek, Bismarck, Dick and Deb Riely, Grand Forks, ND, and Ellen and Jim Hauser, Bayfield, WI. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and their families who meant the world to her.She was preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Alice Riely; her brothers, Mike and Tom; her sister, Janice Jarolimek; and her great-niece, Josie Greenwood.Memorials may be sent to Triple H Miniature Horse Rescue.
