Susan R. Kruckenberg, Menoken, died December 10, 2017, at Baptist Health Care Center, Bismarck. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Susan Kruckenberg was born in Williston, ND, the daughter of Ray and Mildred (Lien) Monson. She attended grade school in Alexander, ND and attended Sidney, MT high school. On March 18, 1968, she married Duane Kruckenberg in Bismarck. They made their home west of Menoken. She worked for Lincoln Oaks Nursery, the family trucking firm and in 1991 started as a CNA for the Baptist Home until retiring in August of 2013. Susan enjoyed traveling to the lower 48 states, Canada, and Mexico. She also enjoyed baking and cooking, snowmobiling, motorcycling, dancing, and country music. Through thick and thin Susan always had a smile on her face and always had a positive outlook on life. She is survived by her husband, Duane, of Menoken; her daughter, Korena, of Bismarck; her grandchildren, Brandon Thompson, Painsville, OH, Alexander Thompson, Bismarck; Korena’s other half, Mark Lawler, Menoken; and his two sons, Collin and Wyatt Lawler of Menoken, and Collin’s daughter Cambria Kuntz; her sister, Joann Perez, Laredo, TX; her two aunts, Marge Brown, Pasco, WA, Pat Owen, Chandler, AZ; her brothers-in law, Glenn (Lucille) Kruckenberg, Mandan, Ron Wagner, Devine, TX; her sister-in-law, Una Neuberger, Pasco, WA; special friends, Bonnie, Sandy, Patty, Ginny, and Bill, many nieces, nephews, cousins and her special cat, Boots. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, David Monson; her sister, Pat Wagner; her half-brother, Roger Wangerud; her brother-in-law, Mike Perez; her sisters-in-law, Betty Pfenning; Luan Neubauer, and Della Schmidt; and her special father-in-law and mother-in-law, Fred H. and Ella Kruckenberg, of Glen Ullin.
