Sylvia Roemmich

Sylvia Dianne Roemmich, 52, of Mandan, ND, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Miller Pointe Nursing Facility.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday October 1, 2022 at Woodlawn Cemetery in Steele, ND with Pastor Jacob DeBoer officiating. A reception will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church in Steele following the service.

Sylvia was born on October 3, 1969 in New Rockford, ND to Jacob and Alvina Roemmich. She was raised on the family farm in Bremen and attended school in Fessenden. In 1987, she met Michael Roemmich near Holdrege, NE, and they were united in marriage on November 25, 1995 in Fessenden, ND. In 2004, they moved to Bowman, ND where they would spend the next 16 years until Mike’s passing.

Sylvia had many passions in life, including sewing, gardening, camping, and traveling. She was well known amongst family and friends for all the wonderful creations that came from her kitchen. Above all else, though, was her dedication to her children. She always took an active role in their school and church group activities.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Lacy Roemmich of Fargo, ND; sons, Brady Roemmich of Grand Forks, ND, and Tracy Roemmich of Big Sky, MT; brothers, Jacob (K) Roemmich of Devils Lake, ND, and Tim (Vicki) Roemmich of Holdrege, NE; sisters, Sheila (Rodney) Strand of Holdrege, NE, Leslie (Gilbert) Unger of Loomis, NE, and Lori (Kirk) Stroup of Holdrege, NE; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Michael; parents, Jacob and Alvina (Wagner) Roemmich; brother, Paul Roemmich; and grandparents, Peter and Elizabeth (Serr) Roemmich, and William and Katherine (Helm) Wagner.
