Terrance “Terry” P. Hettich, 69, passed unexpectedly on September 13, 2017, at his home. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, September 21, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 20, at Parkway Funeral Service.Terry was born March 28, 1948, in Mobridge, SD, to Paul and Helen Hettich. He grew up in Solen and graduated from Solen High School in 1966. Terry moved to Mandan where in his first marriage, had two children, Terry Jo and Ron. He served ten years in the North Dakota National Guard as a mechanic. He then married his wife, Shirleen, in 1999, and moved to Bismarck with her two boys. His youngest son Cayce was born in 2002. They then moved to the family farm where Terry enjoyed taking care of chickens, geese, rabbits and other animals on the farm. He worked as a caregiver the last fifteen years and was semi-retired. Terry had a love for shopping at thrift stores for knickknacks. He enjoyed working outside, and would almost always be in the garage working on cars with his friend Tony. Terry also loved camping and fishing. Terry is survived by his wife, Shirleen, Bismarck; children, Terry Jo (Pete) Tschida, Fort Rice, Ron (Susan) Hettich, Fargo, and Cayce Hettich, Bismarck; stepchildren, John (Shelby) Boehm, Bismarck, and Kenneth Boehm, Bismarck; siblings, Evelyn Henderson, Paula Schwartz, Yvonne Stave, Marvin Hettich, Larry Hettich, Farron Hettich; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Helen Hettich; and his brother, Arlan Hettich. Memorials may be given to the family.
