Thelma Evelyn Musland, 98, a long-time resident of Bismarck, ND, passed away on July 31, 2017, at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND.Services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, August 4, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Dale Nabben officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at Parkway Funeral Service. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Thelma was born May 4, 1919, in Kenmare, ND, to Mike and Hannah Musland. She attended a one-room country school house in Kenmare through 8th grade and then moved on to Model High School in Minot, ND, graduating in 1938.After graduation she went to work as a waitress, an occupation which she continued until her retirement in 1997. Her first job was at George’s Lunch Room in Minot until she moved to Bismarck in1946. She then worked at the Ranch House, Jerry’s Supper Club and the Bismarck Elks. She loved working with the public and many people were willing to wait to be seated at one of her tables. They wanted to be served by the best, and that was Thelma.Thelma was very involved with her nieces and nephews all around the country. Up until her death, she lived at Plaza Tower Condominiums for several years and made some very dear friends in the building. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Thelma is only survived by her 13 nieces and nephews. She was the last of nine children to pass.She was preceded in death by parents, Mike and Hannah Musland; sisters,: Esther Austin, Bertha Meek, Mabel Pierce, Agnes Stai, Evelyn Ledebuhr, Sylvia Masson, Josie Westgard; and brother, Oscar Musland.Memorials preferred to your favorite charity in Thelma’s name.
