Thelma Seibel, 92, Bismarck, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2020. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 24, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 23, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Thelma was born on November 13, 1927 near Tappen, ND, the daughter of Emiel and Emma (Iszler) Schock. She grew up on the family farm between Tappen and Streeter. She taught country school near Tappen and Driscoll for seven years.
On July 1, 1949, Thelma married Alfred Seibel in Jamestown. Together they operated a gas station in Dawson, ND. They also farmed near Pettibone and Driscoll. Thelma cooked for the Driscoll Public School, the Steele Café, and Golden Manor in Steele.
In her spare time Thelma loved to sew, crochet, quilt, and embroider. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, and playing BUNCO.
She is survived by her three children, Rodney (Becky Melby) Seibel, Bemidji, MN; Judith (Kelly) Hintz, Hannover, ND; and Stanley (Brenda) Seibel, Hazen, ND; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Floyd (Keith Banner) Schock; brother-in-law, Leo Mittleider; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred; parents; daughter, Nancy Schoeder; and sister, Loretta Mittleider.
