Thomas A. Bement

Thomas A. Bement, 64,  Bismarck, passed from this life to the next on January 24, 2022.

He was born on April 14, 1957, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Thomas L. Bement and Joyce (Kuhn) Bement.

Tom graduated from Saint Mary’s Central High School in 1975. Following graduation, he attended Bismarck State College and the University of North Dakota. He worked for the City of Bismarck for 40 years and retired from his position as a lab technician for the water plant in 2018.

Family was one of his greatest blessings and people were important to him. Although Tom was a quiet person, he blessed the lives of many with his big caring heart. Tom was a hard worker and always ready to assist others. He especially enjoyed helping and visiting with his grandparents.

Tom had many interests; he enjoyed reading, bowling, music and cheering on the Green Bay Packers. Mostly he enjoyed the outdoors. He appreciated the beauty of nature and spent a great deal of his time biking and walking along the river. Tom spent many years deer hunting with bow or rifle and taking trips on his motorcycle.  A recent trip to Alaska was one of his favorites, also a train ride from Wisconsin to Chicago visiting the museums and taking in the sites, and a memorable fishing trip to Canada with family members and friends. Growing up, he looked forward to the annual family camping trips exploring the United States, National Parks and Canada with occasional stops along the way to visit relatives and friends.

Tom will be deeply missed by his mother, Joyce Bement, Bismarck; sisters, Sandy (Karl) Fahlstrom, Sun Prairie WI and Diane Bement, Bismarck; brother, Steve (Paula) Bement, Mandan; nephews & nieces; many aunts; uncles; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas L. Bement; grandparents, William H. and Clara Bement, and Kathryn Kuhn.

There will be no visitation. A private family service and burial will be held in early summer 2022 at St. Mary’s Cemetery Bismarck followed by a celebration of life for family and friends.
